How do I prepare for the studio shoot (things to rehearse or think about, how to dress)?
You really don't have to do much to prepare for a SunPop shoot, because our main ingredient for a successful video is to highlight the good qualities that are already present in you and your business. That said, our process does have several structures in place to help both you and SunPop prepare to find those hidden gems so we can shine a spotlight on them during the shoot.
Because we've caught several studios trying to rip off our work, sometimes copying our productions word for word, we can't really delve too far into the specifics of our proprietary process in this FAQ.
Wardrobe Guidelines: First and foremost, you should wear clothing that you are comfortable in. Remember, you aren't putting on a show, so don't worry about wearing this month's hottest designer. Instead, simply dress the way you would if you were going to meet potential customers/clients at work.
With that said, you should look presentable and approachable. Unfortunately people do judge a book by its cover, particularly in the business world. The psychological principle at play here is called "the halo effect". With the halo effect, viewers perceive superior value and qualities in people and things that have positive visual features. That means save the downtown partying until after the shoot =)
While you do communicate certain values through your clothing choice, they are miniscule compared to what you communicate through your confidence level and comfort. Come happy, come well rested, and come relaxed. Remember, if you have something that actually matters to people and they appreciate what you offer, there's no pressure. All you have to do is share it with us.
Beyond those personal guidelines, there are just a few technical considerations: Try to steer away from solid white. For example, a dark jacket over a white shirt is fine, but only wearing a white shirt doesn't stand out from the background very well. No sequential stripes (measuring between 1/4 an inch to 1/2 and inch in diameter. Deeper / Darker colors will stand out the most on a clean-white set, but the main consideration is to steer away from colors that are extremely light.
