Why use just a plain white set?

Ya know, people have all kinds of ideas for things they could add to videos. The problem is, most people get so carried away with all the things they could do, they never seem to give enough weight to the things they should do. Stay with me, it's more than semantics.

For example, if someone is talking about their jewelry store, then why not show some footage of the jewelry store in the Video Insight, maybe some salespeople interacting with customers? Easy enough. We'll tell the customers to smile too. And if the salesperson can smile and nod that would be awesome. That puts everything in a more positive light. The store has exceptionally nice bridal pieces in the cases, we should probably show off some of that too. Also, they have better prices than the competitor down the road so we should put some prices on the screen. Of course we can't forget to do the store's slogan. Is there enough time for the jingle? Can we slip that in? But do it authentically, of course...

Oh, how quickly an honest and genuine representation becomes a steaming pile of tired advertising. Do you see how it loses giant chunks of credibility just so more things can be crammed in? Please don't misunderstand us, there is definitely a time and place for good/effective advertising. Actually, we're partnered with an exceptional marketing firm that offers proven advertising and marketing services. However, SunPop is something different. Our goal is to create simple, honest, humanizing representations of clients who truly have something worthwhile to offer. We even have some options for people to widen the scope of their SunPop production a bit, but always within reason. It can be a slippery slope, and we like the view from up here =)

Yes, this is new. Yes this is different. But we're charging full speed into the web, and unfortunately a lot of old school methods don't translate well into an online experience. What would your visitors get more confidence from? Watching a parade prance around in front of your place of business, or simply allowing them to peek through your window to get an insightful glimpse. We have the blank canvas and technique, all you need to do is bring the paint.
